Hello! I hope you’ve all been well. It’s Christmas again, somehow. Another year over, and quite the one for me. I got married, and I moved out of the place I’d lived in since Bowie’s Reality era. Boxes, exhaustion. As Patrick Troughton once said, “life depends on change, and renewal.”
This blog will continue keeping on, in its sporadic way. There will be some commemorations to come (maybe Aladdin Sane, maybe Let’s Dance, maybe The Next Day—who knows) and possibly a few surprises. I continue to revise Rebel Rebel, which should be done by mid-2023. They keep throwing new boxed sets at me, though—now I have to write an entry on “King of the City.” A bit like the old days, when the blog looked to be nearing a close because we’d hit “(She Can) Do That,” and then he’d put out a new album.
Also, next June: the Bowie World Fan Convention in New York. I’ll be there: I’ll get to meet Nicholas Pegg and Nacho and so many others at last! If you’re there, it’ll be great to say hi.
Happy Christmas, happy New Year. Best to everyone.
Merry Christmas ⛄ see you in New York 🦌
Happy Christmas Chris
I hope the change and renewal is everything you hoped for
Love on ya
Thanks for keeping on with the blog in however small a way. I look forward to someday reading your appraisal of Blaze! You’ll have to come back to Manchester to launch the revised RR – I actually had a ticket to the launch of A2A but then forgot to go(!), and I’ve been kicking myself ever since.
Thanks for putting these gems all in one post, I plan to share with my granddaughter!
Happy Xmas to you and all in the Bowieverse.
Peace on earth.

Thanks again for 64Q, another splendid work.
i always enjoy seeing these in my inbox. Congrats on the year, and happy holidays to all
I have been looking forward to this post! Like you, I left my house and the area I lived for nearly 30 years for pastures new. I am still itinerant (staying with family) but hope to move into my new flat in January. Bowie and his advice to let go continually has helped me make these changes in the twilight of my life. So grateful for your continued posts and very much looking forward to meeting you at the convention in June. Have a great Xmas and all the best for your new life in 2023 😊
Congratulations on your wedding, Chris, and thanks for all your work. And a great holiday to you and everyone on here. Cheers!

Was anxiously awaiting this annual post Chris! Made my day when I saw it in my inbox. It’s become a lovely and informative tradition. Like the man himself, ever-present but always surprising. Like so many others, so thrilled that the blog will continue keeping on (Yay!!)and so looking forward to the revised RR in ‘23.
Hope to meet you at the DB convention in June.
Merry Christmas Chris and all good things ahead in ‘23 for us all!
Merry Christmas, Chris and Happy Holidays to all!
Congratulations on the marriage, and many happy years we hope.
Wow, the old days. I was actually here for that. And it does my heart good to see your updates, whatever they may be.
Merry Christmas and best of the season to all.
Congratulations on your marriage, Chris. Wishes for many happy years for the both of you.
The old days. Ah yes, I do remember them. I’m always glad to see your updates, whenever and whatever they are.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, all.
Sorry for the near-identical posts. The first one didn’t show up.
Happy Christmas Chris and all Bowie fans. Reading this post today is now a Christmas tradition for me! I think it’s number 9 with that picture. Thanks for keeping it all going and I look forward to your future posts and revised book. Enjoy the future.
It’s always an occasion when I click the Dame tab daily and find a new post there. Mazeltov on the marriage; I recommend it (still fresh for me too after having been widowed in 2015 and then married again in 2020 — of necessity, by zoom!). Now you had me run to find “King of the City”…an intriguing scratched-out sketch, kinda sounds like the MOR hit single from a parallel universe’s completed Arnold Corns album. Speaking of new posts, I’d have expected a weigh-in on the Moonage Daydream flick by now, but then again there’s an ocean of online opinions about it to wade through, and some nobility in staying out of the water…a trait I don’t share :-), so here is mine, in loyal PAotD fashion, paired with a comicbook-related reference: https://www.hilobrow.com/2022/11/29/off-topic-46/ — Merry Chris-mas, Mr. O’Leary!
glad to see another semiotic analyst on here…

Congratulations on your marriage, and thanks for not forgetting us.
What changes can we expect in the revised Rebel Rebel? Anything substantial?
Let me join in offering congratulations and wishing you a merry Christmas! I just can’t wait to get my hands on the revised Rebel Rebel whenever it is published. There were pages in that book that **floored** me.
Hope you had a great holiday season, Chris (and congratulations on your marriage)!
As ever, your books and blog are my go-to source for insight into my all-time favorite musician. Best wishes for a great 2023 to you and to your readers!
Happy Holidays Chris!

Happy new year! I was just thinking about the 2nd Edition Rebel Rebel, and how the I Never Dreamed discovery sort of screws up the introduction.
nah, now that’s the opener—i think it works.
